| Do you want a bow that is slightly shorter than average?
Do you want a bow that is slightly heavier than average? Do you
want a bow that will produce at least 20% extra is sound quantity
and quality from your instrument? If your answer to these questions
is yes - then I suggest you get on down here to try out this
C. Bazin - because it really is a bow capable of smashing
out a huge, huge sound from your instrument.
Yes - that's quite right they can do
and indeed this one would as well if it wasn't for the fact
that the frog is not the original. All if far from lost though
because we had top English bow maker and repairer Brian Tunnicliffe
make a copy of the original - which unfortunately had been damaged
beyond redemption. We think that you'll all agree that Tunnicliffe
has made a really excellent job of the frog and believe that after
a year or two of use - you'll have great difficulty in telling
that it isn't the real one.
Charles Nicolas Bazin was born on April 24th 1847
in Mirecourt. He was a great craftsman and was responsible for producing
a great many bows that were - and indeed still are - in much demand.
In 1869 Bazin established a workshop in Mirecourt and employed some
of the most famous bowmakers there. In the first six years of the
1900's there were between 12 and 17 makers producing some 2 000
- 3 000 quality bows a year. Bazin spent fifty-six years of
his life devoted to making bows. He died on 6th December 1915.
If you sit in a Symphony Orchestra that plays Brahms,
Bruckner and Beethoven every day - you'll absolutely
love this bow. It feels just great in the hand. It feels just great
sitting on the strings of your instrument - doing absolutely
all the hard work for you. This really is a top-name bow at a lot
less than a top price.
